About Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is running under the SVITS, Indore; Mechanical Engineering department is renowned for cutting edge research and for imparting state of the art engineering education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Our department having highly-qualified and highly experienced faculties, promises to produce the outcome based Diploma, Under Graduates and Post Graduates. We attract some of the brightest students and faculty across the country. Our department has well equipped laboratories and softwares/computer labs to cater to academic needs and inculcate practical knowledge in depth. The focus of our department is to produce industry ready professionals. Our department has collaborative student exchange programs in association with St. Cloud State University in USA. Recently, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (With Specialization in Plant Engineering and Management) has started in Collaboration with TATA Power. Also, formed a group of local industries and named “SVVV- Indore Industry Interface (for Mechanical Engineering)”

The department is focused to fulfil the following objectives:

• To nurture the students with multi-dimensional skill sets and produce industry ready professionals.
• To focus on Outcome Based Education by innovative pedagogy, Industry-Academic interaction and doing live projects etc.
• Each student is focused through a Mentor – Mentee Scheme where students are emphasized for good academics, placements and participation in co-curricular activities.
• Eminent Faculty members from IITs and NITs are teaching the students as experts in many areas of Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering/Agriculture Engineering.
• Industry Internship is included in the curriculum for full semester in the final year so that students get the knowledge and face the challenges of industry.
• Faculty Development Programs are organized by the Department to trained the faculties and upgrade the skills & knowledge of faculty members.
• Good placements are taken place due to the industry internship with high packages in reputed companies
• Provide research environment to our students and faculties in various areas in the field of Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering/Agriculture Engineering.
