A dynamic hub of academic excellence under Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya (SVVV), established in 2020. SVIHS offers a unique, industry-relevant curriculum that is an integrated blend of Food Science and Nutrition, designed to equip students with both scientific knowledge and practical skills. With a philosophy centered on “learning beyond the classroom,” the institute emphasizes research, innovation, and field-based learning to nurture future-ready professionals.

At SVIHS, students are prepared for diverse roles in clinical nutrition, community health, therapeutic nutrition, food safety and quality control, food processing, product development, and health policy. The institute fosters meaningful collaborations with prestigious national and international agencies. These include UNICEF, FSSAI, NIN (National Institute of Nutrition), ICMR, AIIMS, ICDS, Apollo and global academic partners, enabling students to participate in impactful research, training, and exchange programs.

A dedicated placement cell ensures that students are well-positioned for careers in hospitals, NGOs, Community sector, food industries, wellness centers, research institutions, and government bodies. Our students are placed in roles such as Clinical dietitians, Public health Nutritionists, Health Coach, Wellness Consultant, Food analysts, R&D specialists, Quality Control Officers, Quality Assurance Officer and more. The program also supports those pursuing higher education and international certifications in allied health sciences.

Pedagogy

The Food and Nutrition Department faculty strives to provide the highest quality educational experiences for our students, incorporating cutting edge research information with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed by nutrition professionals of the future. The curriculum supports attainment of the Department of Food and Nutrition Educational Objectives (Develop effective communication skills; Develop higher cognitive skills; Cultivate the virtues; Develop focus and depth in one or more disciplines; Develop leadership skills, develop a global perspective; Prepare for lifelong learning). The food and nutrition curriculum prepares students to be leaders in the next generation of food scientists, nutrition scientists, researchers, public health and clinical nutrition practitioners. The program promotes personal scholarship and academic growth, lifelong learning skills, and mastery of core knowledge.
